Sector Politics

To be successful, every sector must elect a Sector leader – a player who can then name your sector, manage relations with other sectors in the game, control the sector bank and is also a moderator of the sector forum. A Sector Leader can also appoint someone as Vice Sector Leader (VSL) to help him clean the forum. You can vote for a person you believe is worth being SL in the Sector Politics tab.

Being a Sector leader is quite a responsibility, with the responsibility of leading the sector (all the ups and downs) you get some benefits of being SL, SL gets a 5% population and money bonus at all time and gets a 10% attack bonus during times of war. Those of you with less experience should consider voting for another kingdom who looks to be a strong and capable leader.

Getting Elected

At the beginning of each round there is a sector leader election in each sector. In the sector forums there is usually a "SL" or Sector Leader thread. In this thread Kingdoms who wish to become sector leader should post their "credentials" or reasons people should vote for them. If you do not wish to become Sector Leader it is important to discern which people are truly experienced from others who state that they have "5 years of experience" just to get elected.

However it is important not to elect someone just by their reputation as other less experienced individuals might make far better sector leaders because they are more active. Remember Leadership is the most important quality for a SL, not Networth.

In order to be elected, you must maintain over fifty percent of the votes of other voting kingdoms, and you must have at least 2 votes more than any other voted kingdom in your sector.

Politics Strategies

There are several strategies that sectors may use to their advantage if the have the ability.

One of them is SL-sharing. SL-sharing is a strategy used mostly during war, so that everyone can have the SL advantages (attack bonus +10%) when they make a hit. This sounds easy, but there have not been many fully successful examples of it. First challenge is that everyone has to switch off their vote (or votes, if you have enough honour) after their hit has been made. Second challenge is that, even if this voting strategy works, the kd that votes himself in, can abuse SL-rights like distributing the sector bank's money for himself.

Another Political Strategy is to give your most active (usually strongest) kingdom sector leader during war so they can use the 10% military bonus to help the sector better fight the war that they are in. This strategy is best employed when you have a strong Oceanic or Arid Wastelands Kingdom in your Sector. The 10% military bonus enhances their already strong defense/offense and gives them a boost in the latter category!
